Honored to spread awareness on an incredibly important case for the Latinx community, Mendez v Westminster, that de-segregated schools for Mexican-American students in Southern California. On March 23rd, we will be hosting a Mendez re-enactment (virtual and in-person) at the US Southern District of NY Ceremonial Courtroom, featuring Columbia Law LaLSA and St. John’s LaLSA Latinx law students, attorneys, and judges. I have been so inspired by writing and directing the re-enactment by bringing the Mendez family and the case’s history to life through theatre, law, and storytelling.
